Tomato Soup Cake

When I was a young girl ( yes we all were at one time🙂 ), my friend Paula’s mom made this cake and it has been one of my favorites ever since.  You don’t see very often so let me know how you like it.

1/2 cup butter ( I always use unsalted butter in any baking)
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 cups of flour
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon cloves
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup raisins
1 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 cup chopped nuts
2 teaspoons hot water
1 can tomato soup

Cream the butter, sugar and egg.  Add the dry ingredients alternately with the soup and water.  Bake at 350 in a prepared pan for approximately 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Cool completely and ice with vanilla frosting.
